“… if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” Romans 10:10-11
It is my heart’s prayer that this blog is a place of glory to Him and a place of blessing to you. The Bible says in Ephesians that before you believe you are dead in your sin, but that God is gracious to you and can make you alive in Christ. There is nowhere that you’ve been, and no place that you are now, that is too far from His reach. He alone can bring the dead back from the grave.
Romans 3:22-23 says, “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” We are all sinners, and we are all dead in our sin. But God, in His grace, has provided a way to bridge the gap, to be made alive. He became flesh and dwelt among us, living a perfect, sinless life. Then, He died on the cross, bearing the punishment for all of our sin. Three days later, he rose again, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. ”For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Jesus paid the wages of our sin, and offers us eternal life, if we believe in Him.
Nothing else is required, and the faith required for salvation itself is a gift. ”For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
If you receive these truths, dear one, and believe them in your heart, God has called you to His kingdom. Turn from your sin and run toward Him. I would love to hear from you, and am always available to answer any questions that you may have.
“Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!” 1 Chronicles 16:8-10
