Out-of-Context Wednesday

Hope you all had an AWESOME Christmas and enjoyed celebrating with your families!

Every Wednesday at Love Abounding, we’ll be doing a little something I like to call “Out-of-context Wednesday.”  So often, verses are taken piecemeal out of the Bible, out of their original context.  When this happens, it is waaaaaay to easy for them to lose their original meaning and intended purpose.  To illustrate this, I present to you our first Out-of-Context Wednesday post.

40 Weeks and Neon Stripes

“Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.  Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”  Galatians 1:1

I love that Galations verse. Specifically the world gentleness. I think it is so key. God calls us to respond in gentleness when correcting others. He could have used any word.. But gentleness was what he chose. Something so easy to forget sometimes. He did not use the word bold. He used gentle. I love it.

And I love this pic! I remember taking a pic on my due date with my third and was so annoyed to still be pregnant on my due date. {and she came still 4 days later!} lol.
